The Fresh Towel Set

The Fresh Towel Set…When you step out of the shower, smelling of soap and shampoo and feeling fresh and clean, the last thing you want to find waiting for you is a stinky bath towel.

Mildew is commonly referred to for many kinds of fungi that linger on damp towels and cause a musty smell. Bacteria will also give your towels a sour odor, and bacteria multiply on damp towels. Because conventional cotton towels tend to dry not as quickly as bamboo towels this is typically a problem.

But, why we are huge fans of organic doesn’t only have to do with their freshness, we also feel that organic cotton towels may be the most important Organic item you could use, for your health, right after Organic foods, because Organic cotton towels are what you rub your body and face with, after a hot/cold bath.

After a hot shower, your skin pores open up all across your body, and are more sensitive to whatever they come in contact with. At this point, if you rub your body vigorously with a towel, in order to dry yourselves well, make sure the towel is made of Organic cotton.
This is because the sensitive skin would absorb some of the agents present on the towel, aka dyes, mordants and other chemicals. And, it is at this post-shower phase that the skin would probably absorb most of anything. At this stage, using a conventional non-organic cotton towel is equivalent to leaving your skin open to absorption of all the harmful chemicals that go into making a conventional cotton towel. These are highly toxic chemicals, as can be learnt by simply Googling up on cotton chemicals/toxicity.

What we find so wonderful … Bamboo fibers, absorb moisture 1 ½ times faster than Cotton. Not only are they quicker in absorbing moisture, but also at releasing moisture. With this quick drying effect, plus the anti-bacterial properties of Bamboo, these towels remain fresh smelling, even if hanging in a humid bathroom. Cheers!

When you’re ready to retire your current cotton towels, wash them and donate to a local animal shelter or veterinary clinic. Replace with towels made from organic cotton—grown without pesticides—or bamboo, a quick-growing grass used for both lumber and fiber. Bamboo towels dry in a flash, and are sumptuously soft and more absorbent than cotton. You should also encourage your family to hang towels up to dry so you can get more uses out them before laundering.
